About the role

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team and play an essential role in promoting a culture of safety within our Company, conducting thorough assessments, and implementing effective measures to mitigate risks.

You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting inspections and audits, developing and implementing safety policies, and providing guidance to employees to minimise workplace hazards. The role will also include monitoring and improving  HSEQ standards, collecting data, and advising site management, supervision and supply chain in all aspects of HSEQ at work.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out regular, planned HSEQ project inspections and audits.
  • Collate daily, weekly and monthly data for monthly dashboards.
  • Chair and attend project HSEQ meetings and committees as agreed with the project teams, liaise with clients, principal designer and project teams about project HSEQ requirements.
  • Produce comprehensive audit reports inclusive of recommendations for improvement and verify that corrective and preventive action has been taken.
  • Support external, internal audits such as ISO 9001/14001/45001
  • Manage the project accident, incident investigation process through to lessons learnt with effective communication.
  • Build relationships internally with PME project teams and externally with client, Principal Designer and other stakeholders.
  • Understands both PME’s and your own responsibilities in controlling and minimising HSEQ risks, impacts and improving performance as detailed in Company Manuals.
  • Assist with training delivery where possible.
  • Any other duties associated with the role as directed by Head of HSEQ.

About you

Our ideal candidates should have Mechanical / Electrical contracting background with accident and incident investigation experience. You should hold a NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification to a minimum of Level 3 and be a great communicator with good computer and IT skills.

If you enjoy working within a fast-paced dynamic environment, have the relevant experience, hold a full driving licence and willing to travel to various sites around Oxford, Peterborough and Cambridge (with some travel to Head Office in London when required), we want to hear from you.
