Job Description

As our business continues to grow, we have a strategic requirement to hire an Engineering Manager – New Build Conventional Island.

The Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role for the formation, leadership and management of the engineering teams that will undertake Front End Engineering Delivery for NNB major programmes.

Key Responsibilities to include.

  • Leadership of the engineering activities
  • Approvals for Safety and Functional Requirements
  • Leadership and demonstration of Design Packages in line with requirements
  • Model Based System Engineering oversight and sign off
  • Preparation and sign off of Technical Specifications
  • Programme monitoring and reporting
  • Management of Risk and Opportunity
  • Team development and management
  • SQEPing of resources
  • Coaching and identifying training needs
Qualifications

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive proven experience in similar roles with specific emphasis on FEED through to detailed design.
  • Experienced in leading and integration of multi-disciplinary design teams
  • Able to define power station thermal cycle modelling outcomes and oversee work undertaken.
  • Ability to define budgets/work programs for complete design project lifecycles e.g. requirements capture, concept design and detailed design.
  • Proven ability in Front End Engineering solutions associated with New Build conventional Island
  • Good understanding of relevant Regulations, ONR, Environment Agency and HSE
  • Experience of Requirements Capture/Elicitation/management
  • Model Based System Engineering practitioner
  • Experience in managing sub-contracts and sub-contractors
  • CEng in a relevant discipline
  • SC Clearance or capable of achieving it
