Alecto Recruitment is working with a genuine market leader in the Anaerobic Digestion sector who has a portfolio of Anaerobic Digestion plants across the country and is recruiting for a Compliance Governance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and promote a positive compliance and HSW culture across all areas of the company.
  • Actively participate in team engagement activities and be a positive ambassador for the Compliance Assurance Team.
  • Be an effective team leader, fulfil management requirements and support performance and development of direct report/s.
  • To look ahead to anticipate problems and develop plans to overcome potential obstacles.
  • Ensure the best commercial prices and terms are achieved across all waste contracts.
  • Responsible for overseeing the Compliance Framework, including our client's legal and risk registers and the change process, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. This involves continuous development and maintenance, measured against obligations through action plans and reporting.
  • In charge of managing the Integrated Management System to maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications. This includes leading the internal audit plan and coordinating with Compliance Assurance Officers to ensure timely and complete fulfilment of actions.
  • Keeps abreast of new legislation, advising the QEHS Director and business leads on implications and tracking market developments to suggest necessary adjustments.
  • Offers expert advice on compliance and ISO requirements across the business, oversees mandatory e-learning, contractor and complaint management processes, and ensures effective communication and follow-up.
  • Responsible for generating reports, managing data analysis for the QEHS Director and stakeholders, leading Compliance Meetings, supporting corporate functions with required reporting, and handling additional tasks as requested by the QEHS Director.

Experience and skills required:

  • Practically apply compliance to operational situations
  • Strong analytical aptitude and ability to convey complex information articulately
  • Good commercial acumen.
  • Strong compliance / assurance background with demonstratable experience in regulatory frameworks, ISO, GDPR management
  • Detailed understanding of complex legislation and regulations
  • Knowledge of waste and recycling legislation and environment knowledge preferred
  • Experience of working in regulated industry preferred
  • NEBOSH Certificate preferred
  • Educated to degree level
  • Full UK driving licence for business travel
  • Flexibility in approach and ability to prioritise
  • Experience of working in fast paced environment
  • Positive and professional work ethics
  • Collaborate to deliver a robust and cooperative 1st and 2nd line operation and compliance interface
