Main Objectives: Managing the electronic components in use and those under consideration for introduction in new designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Streamlining the usage of current components to minimise redundancy.
• Harmonising component part numbering systems for efficiency.
• Collaborating with Purchasing to resolve component sourcing challenges.
• Ensuring the quality and reliability of electronic components, while managing and minimising component obsolescence.
• Identifying alternative component sources and conducting testing and evaluation for new and existing designs.
• Maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for all components to facilitate procurement.
• Partnering with design teams to select cost-effective components that meet regulatory standards.
• Investigating component failures in collaboration with Quality and suppliers, implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Background in electronic design with some exposure to purchasing.
• Professional or academic qualification in electronic engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in component engineering.
• Technical proficiency in component engineering principles.
• Familiarity with electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical components.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Confident, motivated, and well-organised with meticulous attention to detail.
