Our client specialises in the design, development and manufacture of handheld testing products and are looking to recruit a Graduate Electronics Technician to join their long-established family run business based in Basildon. Ideally you will have some "hands on" experience in the manufacture of electronic products to act as the link between R&D and workshop.

Duties:

• The Graduate Electronics Technician will produce and test electronic parts and sub-assemblies including PCB Assembly requiring soldering and crimping to IPC standards
• Testing using electronic test equipment such as scopes and multi-meters
• Complete final assembly of systems
• Create new and update build instructions to latest specification
• Perform calibration, final test and documentation
• Repair of electronic systems to component level
• Work from drawings, schematics, electronic assembly equipment and verbal/written instructions to assemble, repair, modify, rework or re-assemble units.
• Carry out tasks that are repetitive in nature with the ability to recognise non-conformity
• Provide technical support in house and to customers

Skills & Qualifications

• BTEC level qualification in Electronic Engineering or higher
• Some experience in Surface mount soldering with knowledge of analogue and digital circuits preferable
• Knowledge of PCB electronic component fault diagnosis techniques down to component level desirable
• Crimping, soldering and rework skills
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills with a basic understanding of IT and an interest in developing these skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a methodical way and be willing to lend a hand with other duties

Benefits:

• £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience
• 28 days holiday including bank holidays
• 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (flexible hours working between 8am and 6pm)
