Purpose of role and key accountabilities:

  • To provide support to Stores/Despatch department to ensure correct documents and items are ready for despatch.  To provide support to the Ident department for the part marking of components as required.  To drive company vehicles and be able to transport components offsite to customer and Gardner Aerospace sites
  • To support the delivery of items for packing and wrapping
  • To ensure boxed components are counted, labelled and delivered to the correct department.
  • To assist in the preparation of appropriate documents prior to despatch via various transportation means to Gardner Aerospace and customer sites
  • Assist with the packing, wrapping and despatching of parts with reference to job card documentation
  • To drive company vehicles for the delivery of parts and other goods to other Gardner Aerospace sites in the UK  
  • Supporting other departments within the company i.e. assist with part marking as necessary
  • To locate into the Stores all finished parts which are passed, after final inspection
  • To prepare kits of parts against work-to lists for customer orders and forward the kits to the Despatch Department/Final Inspection prior to transfer to the customer
  • To ensure that the layout and labelling of the Finished Parts stores is maintained in a professional and orderly manner
  • To maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in the Stores area
  • To ensure a high level of security is met at all times
  • To generate weekly stock reports via Crystal reports
  • To undertake perpetual inventory stock checks and ensure that stock levels tally with stock reports
  • To stock pick items in conjunction with customer requirements
  • To update and maintain PARAGON in line with operating procedures in undertaking the above duties
  • Responsible for managing the loading of vehicles, completed stock and load bay areas
  • Planning and scheduling the delivery of goods and cargoes
  • Identifying & delivering operational cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives
  • Making sure that project deadlines are met
  • Implement/maintain a system for completing and filing compliance documentation
  • Implement/maintain a system for receiving of repair/return items
  • Maintaining various databases
  • Ensuring that all set targets are achieved

Core skills/attributes needed:

  • Knowledge of exporting and forwarding
  • Ability to manage a number of projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision
  • Excellent IT Skills
