HV Design Engineer

Dynamic, respected and growing high voltage (HV) engineering specialists, involved in projects from 11kV - 400kV, require HV Design Engineers with experience designing HV infrastructure (132kV - 400kV), encompassing primary and secondary (control and protection) systems, for a variety of interesting schemes. These projects include battery storage, substations and renewables.
Duties:
- Carry out feasibility studies and conceptual designs for HV engineering schemes - substations, primary / control and protection
- Follow this with the preparation of detailed designs, calculations and specifications, ensuring adherence with grid codes, standards and legislation
- Conduct power systems analysis
- Help mentor and guide graduate and junior engineers
- Make sure all project documentation is accurately completed
- Maintain close relationships with end clients and project stakeholders
Requirements:
- Experience in the design of HV substation projects (132kV - 400kV), covering areas such as primary and control and protection
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Knowledge of grid codes and standards within the transmission and distribution (T&D) industry
- Experience in power systems analysis and associated software, such as DigSilent or ETAP
