Morson Technical Services are currently seeking an Avionic Worshop Technician on a permanent basis to be based at RNAS Yeovilton.

About -

Our Wildcat Base Maintenance team carry out 300 hourly zonal maintenance on the 62 strong fleet of Army and Navy Wildcat Helicopters. On a 17-week programme, teams strip, clean, inspect and rectify the aircraft to return to the front-line squadrons.  Our qualified engineers work a days’ routine, fault finding and replacing components as required and ground running the aircraft prior to sending them forward.

Main Activities and Tasks –

  • Conduct testing, repair, configuration control, maintenance and calibrations on both aircraft avionics equipment and test equipment.
  • Execute the assigned range of repairs within defined turnaround times in support of achieving the overall demand satisfaction rate.
  • Support the avionics workshop at RNAS Yeovilton to comply with the UK MAA Regulatory Articles under MAOS Pt 145.
  • Responsible for maintaining all documentation as well as keeping training records up to date.
  • Support and respond to workshop managers instructions.
  • Support and respond to QA audit findings.
  • Assist in investigations and development activities.
  • Assist and prepare reports where necessary.
  • Communicate verbally and electronically with both MoD and Industry customers, partners and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with multidiscipline teams; Technical, Logistical and Managerial.
  • Provide Supervisor signature and coverage.
  • Maintain technical authorisations and security clearance for the position.
  • Ensure KP|s on workshop are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Assist towards continuous improvement to reduce costs/waste and optimise the process/ procedures that govern the workshop under MAOS Part 145.

Knowledge Skill and Experience –

  • Will be professionally accredited and / or possess considerable demonstrable experience and have substantial analytical and technical problem solving skills.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office applications incting access and other software applications such as C-IETP, Resolve, SAM's and SAP.
  • Able to meet the requirements of the CAMO and hold supervisory accountability.
  • Possess good hand skills (Soldering, Crimping) and familiar with wiring husbandry and PTT regulations/ requirements.
  • Must possess excellent communication and inter-personnel skills, with the ability to interact with subject matter experts regarding a wide range of technical and operational topics.
  • Ability to innovate, develop and continuously improve the workshop technical solution, compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Self-motivated team player capable of working with minimum direction.
  • Must be able to obtain technical authorisations and security clearance.
