We have an exciting opportunity for Laser Setter Operator to join  a leading precision sheet metal fabrication organisation.

The Laser Setter Operator has primary responsibility for all the all maintenance, set-ups and production runs, whilst ensuring safety, accuracy and meeting of deadlines of the jobs.  

Days/Hours of Work

Rotating shift pattern:

Week 1 – 06:00am – 14:00pm

Week 2 – 14:00pm – 22:00pm

Rates of Pay

£13.23 - £15.71 Per Hour Depending upon Experience

Duties & Responsibilities

• Set-up, check, adjust and prepare the laser CNC for the required jobs
• Set-up and adjustment of materials
• Locate and upload proper programme from machine control
• Ensure optimal laser cutting conditions
• Provide immediate feedback to supervisors on jobs that are not meeting the production standards
• Working with engineering and operations to ensure finished products are produced in the safest, effective manner, while maintaining high quality control standards
• Loading and unloading of product to the machine carefully and with attention to detail
• Responsible for properly packaging, identifying and moving all finished products to required locations
• Perform set-up inspections, first piece inspections as well as subsequent inspections as required
• Monitor equipment and tool wear and request external maintenance when required
• Perform simple machine maintenance and repair as required
• Work with supervisor, programmer, engineers to make constant improvements in programme operating procedures and lean activities

Requirements:

• At least 1-2 years’ experience of setting up and programming laser/punch machines
• Must have experience in setting up and adjusting laser and/or punch machine, along with maintaining laser optics
• Understand and select laser cutting gases and parameters for optimal cutting
• Good mathematical ability
• Able to interpret drawings
• Experience of using measuring devices such as Vernier’s
• MUST be driver with own vehicle due to locati0on
