Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the HVAC design aspects of our projects, with the potential to progress into a leadership role within the design department. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional mechanical building services designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of HVAC systems for a wide range of projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions that meet project objectives.
  • Conduct detailed calculations, simulations, and analyses to optimize system performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for tender and construction purposes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and drafters as needed.
  • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and inspections to ensure design intent is achieved during construction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in HVAC design and building services engineering.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in HVAC design for building services projects, with a focus on commercial, retail, and institutional sectors.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HVAC design tools.
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, CIBSE, BSRIA).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to innovate and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: £60,000 - £85,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience and qualifications)
