Job overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer based at our headquarters in Surrey. As the Senior Project Engineer you will be responsible for the definition, development, testing and delivery of the Serviceability of our core technology. This is a great opportunity to be part of building a fast-growing business in an exciting environment.
You will be responsible for ensuring products are designed for easy and cost-effective maintenance and repair. You will work closely with the product development and manufacturing teams to design, test, and implement features that improve serviceability and reduce downtime. Whilst creating technical maintenance and serviceability documentation, you will also assist in supporting, building and training a team of technicians, internally and externally.


Key responsibilities

  • Creating all aftermarket related technical publications such as maintenance manual, training catalogue, service bulletins etc.
  • Collaborate with the Mechanical Design Engineers, focusing on hardware product design ensuring simplicity and minimum specialist tooling.
  • Generate concepts and systems supporting product serviceability and maintenance.
  • Assess serviceability and repairability by reviewing drawings/CAD and physical methods and assess specialist tooling requirements whilst managing engineering change/impact assessments.
  • Ensure all Aftermarket deliverables and requirements are identified and achieved.
  • Create and maintain service bill of materials (BOMs).
  • Provide Aftermarket cost forecast analysis on all serviceable parts.
  • Support field technicians and make time sensitive decisions on customer units whilst managing risk and ambiguity.
  • Articulate complex technical solutions with peers and non-engineering colleagues, such that others can easily understand, build and evolve your ideas.
  • Build diagnostic requirement and architecture, defining onboard diagnostic and cloud based prognostic solutions.


Qualifications & experience

  • A strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and ability to understand complex systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with CAD and reviewing design standards.
  • Good knowledge of service BoMs.
  • The ability to troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Proven experience in serviceability and maintenance for refrigerated trailers, HVAC or similar systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret/execute written instructions as well as work collaboratively as part of a wider team across the business.
  • A 'can do' attitude and be able to work within the timescales set through the SLA's.
  • The ability to design and provide solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
  • A passion for the environment and being a force for good.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage your time.
