Immediate opportunity for a Birmingham based business for a dynamic Electrical Designer looking for an interesting role working with state-of-the-art process automation, robotics & test systems. The Electrical Design Engineer will be working across the Automotive, Aerospace, Logistics and other manufacturing sectors.

Joining an established and growing team, the Electrical Designer will work on a variety of projects; you will have design influence and the scope of the job will be varied covering widely different requirements.

Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:
· The role will involve working through all phases of a project life cycle including:
· Supporting customer review meetings and generating proposal / specification documents
· Reviewing designs ensuring they are not over engineered for customer applications and producing accurate BOM’s for hand over to purchasing and manufacturing.
· Producing technical drawings and schematics as required
· Good document control including engineering change control and drawing revision.
· Creating documentation and performing risk analysis reviews to support UKCA / CE marking.

Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:
· Experienced and good understanding of bespoke machine building.
· Knowledge and experience of pneumatic systems
· An understanding and experience of vehicle electrical systems & schematics would be beneficial, but not essential, with knowledge of Electronics, PC/PLC Control Systems a bonus.
· Experience in SolidWorks, AutoCAD or EPlan is ideal.

All systems are designed & built on site. This is primarily an office-based role, however there will be an expectation to travel to site for customer visits and to assist with commissioning where required.

We are looking for an Engineer who is prepared and interested to take a hands-on approach in all aspects of the design & build. Any additional mechanical skills/knowledge would be highly advantageous. You will be joining a business where you are actively encouraged to excel from day one. You will work with some of the most exciting clients in the industry on bespoke projects with state of the art technology.

Based in the West Midlands, this role is commutable from within and around the following locations: Birmingham Central, Birmingham South, Dudley, Quinton, Halesowen, Stourbridge, Harborne, Smethwick, Sutton Coldfield, West Bromwich, and Wednesbury.
