As a Generator Field Service Engineer, you’ll:

  • Master the art of load sharing between generator sets. Your ability to balance power distribution will be crucial for reliability.
  • Support critical generator set service activities in the workshop, onboard ships and vessels. Your expertise will contribute to seamless operations and uninterrupted power supply.
  • Carry out generator field service and dive into the heart, heart, and bottom end of engine overhaul and engine rebuild, working on engines ranging from 250HP to 2000HP.
  • You’ll handle both fixed and variable speed rebuilds, ensuring optimal engine performance.
  • Collaborate on twin-engine setup configurations for ship propulsion. - Your role will directly impact the vessel’s efficiency.

About You:

  • You’ll have proven experience with major maintenance on medium to large diesel and gas engines (250-2000HP). Whether it’s marine, truck, industrial, or power generation applications, you’ve got it covered.
  • You’re well-acquainted with engine brands like CAT, Cummins, MAN, Scania, and Volvo. Their inner workings are second nature to you.
  • From full engine overhauls and rebuilds to generator field service, commissioning and fault-finding, you’ve done it all. Your practical approach ensures smooth operations.
  • Familiarity with generator sets is desirable.
  • Previous roles in marine engineering or field service technician positions give you an edge. You understand the unique challenges of the maritime & power generation world.

  • They’ve recently secured dealership status with a well-known engine manufacturer. 
  • This means that you’ll be joining the team at an exciting time in their expansion, with ample room for career progression and involvement in all aspects of the business!
  • You’ll work in a small, welcoming field service engineering team of 3 that values honesty and integrity, with full engine dealer support. 
  • You’ll be based in the South West region, with around 40% of your travel to Sunny Spain, Italy, Greece, and the Caribbean. No more winter blues!
