Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established FMCG business.

As Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer you will be pivotal in ensuring daily operational plans are achieved. Responsible for running, introducing and maintaining equipment together with the development of continuous improvement ideas and facilitation these through a number of Lean Manufacturing areas to deliver improvements across the factory.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off, 2days/2 nights - 42hrs per week

Key Responsibilities as Multi Skilled Engineer

Delivery of maintenance activities as derived from a maintenance system (SAP).

Optimise equipment condition on specific lines.

Address both chronic and sporadic issues to reduce losses in efficiency and waste.

Differentiate activities based on equipment opportunity and criticality.

Assist in the creation of fact-based root cause analysis.

Assist in the creation of departmental SOP's.

Support the role out of best practice maintenance management using TPM/RCM across the manufacturing lines.

Support best practice and continuous improvement techniques across the business such as Kaizen, to

deliver rapid improvement events.

Support the training and development of operators in first line maintenance and problem-solving accordance with SOP's and areas of responsibility.

Ensure adherence to company Health and Safety policy and relevant legislation.

The incumbent may be required to perform other functions as required by the company under the orders and instructions of their immediate superior.

Skills and Competencies - Multi Skilled Electrical Engineer

Demonstrates the ability to support teams internally and externally, to ensure effectiveness in line with needs of the business.

Ability to plan and prioritize workload in order to meet required deadlines and performance standards.

Demonstrates the ability of being able to maintain and improve effective working practices, use of

facilities and materials etc.

Flexible attitude towards work and is able to respond top business needs immediately.

Effective communication skills that allow the individual to communicate internally and externally, at

all levels.

Able to pass on knowledge to other team members and apprentices.

The ability to maintain and improve levels of Health and Safety and Housekeeping standards.

Familiar with all types of factory equipment and associated plant.

Able to work on own initiative.

Able to problem solve in a highly production-based environment.

Able to play a key role in the continually improvement of the factory, equipment and maintenance.

Familiar with planned and preventative maintenance systems.

Qualifications

To have followed and completed and Engineering Apprenticeship or Engineering qualifications

preferably to HNC/HND level, Electrical awareness qualification (18th edition is preferable).

Previous experience working in a similar environment in a similar role.

A good working knowledge and understanding of factory processes and technology.
