Maintenance Engineer – Facilities – Machinery.

Up to £35k per annum + Bonus + Overtime – Based Near Peterborough

5D Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a leading bespoke machinery manufacturer.  Their products are predominately used in the power generation, automotive, and construction sectors.  Over the last five years their turnover has quadrupled and they are opening a second facility in the next few months. 
As the workload and number of staff has increased, we are looking for a facilities biased maintenance engineer to maintain the upkeep of the fabric of both facilities.
This role will also work closely with the contractors on site. Ensuring they adhere to all HSE rules and completing all relevant paperwork.

What the role will involve for the Maintenance Engineer:
• Reactive maintenance on basic electrical and mechanical systems. This can include lighting and single phase power, but also kitchens and toilets.
• Help develop and adhere to a basic PPM schedule for all onsite machinery.
• PPMs could include checks to tooling, replacement of bearings, motors, and shafts.  Specialist contractors are used for complex or specific maintenance issues.
• General repairs to the fabric of buildings.
• Assist in getting the new facility fully operational.
• Organise and manage external contractors who would be responsible for specialist services, including the permit to work system.

Requirements

What we are looking for in the Maintenance Engineer:
• Experience in facilities maintenance.
• An understanding of machinery maintenance.
• Experience in co-ordinating sub-contractors and the relevant documentation processes.
• A driving license is essential for this role to travel between sites.
