Electro Mechanical Fitter.

Up to £37k DOE + Bonus.

We are recruiting an Electro-Mechanical Fitter to join our client based in Bedford, who are well established within the manufacturing sector. With over 50 year’s experience, their capabilities include design, development, and manufacturing of special purpose machinery which are supplied to a variety of industries including food, semi-conductor, and FMCG manufacture.

This role involves building the machines from the ground up, through to FAT and then installing and commissioning on a clients site – and being responsible for the machine until client acceptance.

What the Role will involve for the Electro Mechanical Fitter:
• Taking the base frames and fitting mechanical components. This can include valves, pumps, and assemblies.
• Building of sub-assemblies, which could include grabbers or cooling systems.
• Fitting the sub-assemblies into larger assemblies and then into the main machine.
• Build control panels. These are typical quite small.
• Wiring the machines, this includes working from schematics, running cables, installing control panels, terminating, and crimping etc.
• Wire the control panel to the machine.
• Check all electrical and mechanical fitting before test.
• Conduct power up testing.
• Be involved with the FAT with the client.
• Following the machine and installing and commissioning on site.  Not much of this role will be travel – only 10-15% - but it is still an important part of the role.

Requirements

What we are looking for in the Electro Mechanical Fitter:
• An electrical qualification, such as 18th Edition or HNC, ONC, HND etc.
• Experience with electrical fitting.
• Mechanical fitting knowledge.
• Good communication.
• Test experience is ideal but not essential.
