My client is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join on them on a contract position. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for? supporting multiple teams of other product design engineers, test design engineers, production, and service centre staff to resolve issues with product design, modification, upgrades, customer investigations, supplier investigations, obsolescence, and test system design changes.

Role:? Manufacturing Engineer
Pay: £30-£35 per hour PAYE
Location: Yeovil
Contract: Initial 6 months (possible extension)
Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 Hours
Candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted
Job Profile
* Be part of product transitions from development to repair phase.
* Provide support Product review board (PRB)
* Support tooling requests and documentation development
* Guide and train operations on processes and support R+O operations leader
* Engage in and drive materials savings projects to reduce manufacturing and repair costs.
* Provide shop floor engineering guidance to reduce scrap and past due coming up with improved work scopes and processes.
* Remove waste from the repair process.
* Lead capital purchases initiatives
* Provide estimates and statements of work for various engineering efforts and projects.
* Communicate directly with internal and external customers and suppliers about status on resolutions for problems such as supply chain delivery disruptions, no-fault-found situations, defect escapes, warranty review, and first-year-in-service failures.
Skills/Experience Required


  • 3 years+ experience in Manufacturing Engineering related support or suitable discipline.

  • Can do attitude

  • Team player

  • Proactive in HSE

  • Fluency in English language (written & verbal) is essential

  • A drug screening is required on all successful candidates prior to starting the contract


Education & Training


  • HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, preferably in Mechanical and Production Engineering, or recognised time served apprenticeship.
