Salary: £54,000

Tiro Partners is seeking a motivated individual to join a Battery department as a Test Engineer. The Battery department plays a crucial role in providing testing services for Battery/Module/Cell, covering various aspects including performance, life cycle, durability, safety, abuse, and environmental testing.

Responsibilities:
As a Test Engineer, you will:

  • Liaise with customers to establish testing requirements and ensure tests are prepared, executed, documented, and reported to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.
  • Establish test content and review regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare internal test execution documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and quality procedures.
  • Develop Risk Assessments and support a culture of safe working.
  • Program test equipment and undertake analysis of results.
  • Apply continuous improvement methods to processes and facilities.
  • Work in accordance with ISO 17025 and support the creation of new and existing processes and procedures.
  • Act in accordance with company staff behaviours at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in technical/electrical disciplines.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience performing tests within a lab or workshop environment, or working in the design and development of batteries (Desirable).
  • Experience with electric vehicles or relevant HV systems (Desirable).
  • Experience with CAN (Desirable).
  • Development and commissioning of test rigs and apparatus.
  • Understanding of health and safety risks.
  • Selection and application of instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Data analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
  • Writing technical reports.
  • Familiarity with international standards.

Skills:

  • Practical understanding of electrical principles and battery fundamentals.
  • Programming of automation or software-controlled applications.
  • Utilization of HV diagnostic tools.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Rig design using CAD packages (Preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
