Electrical Design Engineer

You would be working in tandem with the Structures, HVAC, Mechanical and Safety Teams which provide through life electrical engineering support to all Royal Naval Surface Fleet, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and Submarine Platforms. This role will offer you the opportunity to be a part of and help shape the future support of world class vessels within the Defence Industry.
THE ROLE:
- Producing Integration Design Solutions for the introduction of new equipment into Maritime Platforms, activities consisting of:
- Liaison with MoD Customer and Industry Partners throughout the Design process
- Ship Survey(s)
- Production of an Installation Solution Pack consisting of Electrical/System Drawings, Penetrations, Cable Data Sheets, Bill of Materials and associated Installation Instructions
- Equipment Configuration Control and Ship Power and Load Chart Management
- Configuring and Maintaining Ship Databases for Electrical Power Distribution and Blown Fibre Networks
- Provide a technical input to the Product Safety of Design Services deliverables
YOUR SKILLS:
- Knowledge of Electrical Systems theory
- Interpret and apply Electrical Design Standards
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
