About The Company: Contek Recruitment are currently working with a leading provider of tanker manufacturing solutions, specializing in the bespoke manufacture of liquid waste vacuum tankers and jetting equipment for companies in the UK and worldwide. Our client pride themselves on delivering high-quality products to their clients, and they are currently seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team.

Position Overview: As a MIG Welder, you will play a crucial role in the manufacture of tankers for various industries. Your primary responsibility will be to perform MIG welding operations on tanker components, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to specifications.

Working Hours (Rotating Weekly):

Week 1: Monday to Friday (06:00 until 14:00)
Week 2: Monday to Thursday (14:00 until 22:30) & Friday (14:00 until 19:30)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding techniques based on materials and thickness.
  • Perform MIG welding on tanker components, including seams, joints, and brackets. All welding work is between 4-8mm in thickness.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure welds meet company and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and meet project deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a MIG Welder, preferably in the fabrication of tanker equipment.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding techniques and equipment operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Welding certification(s) preferred but not required.
  • FLT and overhead crane license is preferred, but not required.
