As Firmware Engineer for an esteemed and award winning product design consultancy, you will manage the team in driving the successful execution of electronics projects in medical devices and consumer industries. Your primary responsibility will be delivering technically complex projects and managing the Firmware development of a given project from concept to production.

YOUR PROFILE:

I am seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer adept at steering technically intricate projects from concept to production. Beyond technical prowess, the ideal candidate will excel in team leadership, fostering collaboration, and possess strong pitch capabilities to effectively communicate offerings to clients, contributing to the company's expansion.

RESPONSIBILITIES AS FIRMWARE ENGINEER:

  • Create proposals outlining electronics project scopes, timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Provide technical leadership for Firmware/Embedded Software development across diverse projects.
  • Effectively manage subcontracted resources for specialised development tasks.
  • Oversee the delivery of electronics and embedded software components.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of Engineers.
  • Shape the strategic direction of hardware and firmware development.
  • Cultivate a collaborative team culture, fostering the growth of junior colleagues

REQUIREMENTS AS FIRMWARE ENGINEER:

  • Degree in (or similar to) Embedded Software or Electronics Engineering
  • Relevant industry experience at senior level in managing Electronics projects to from concept to completion.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems design, microcontrollers, and firmware development
  • Knowledge of compliance and certification requirements for electronic products
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and colleague relationship-building
  • Experience in team management (preferably Agile methodologies)

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards for medical device projects
  • Background or experience with a design consultancy engineering environment
