Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant / Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent in a related technical discipline and demonstrate a keen interest in becoming a Chartered Engineer with organizations such as ICE/CIHT or similar. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of civil engineering, particularly in highways design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of highway projects.
  • Work collaboratively with senior engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions within set timeframes.
  • Utilize Civils3D, AutoCAD, and the Autodesk ecosystem for project design and drafting.
  • Apply knowledge of highway design standards including DMRB, MfS, and LTNs to project work.
  • Conduct detailed design tasks under supervision, with a focus on accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate strong numeracy and analytical skills in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
  • Take initiative and work autonomously when required, while also contributing to a dedicated and collaborative team environment.
  • Thrive in pressured situations and manage workload efficiently to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, preferably with exposure to highway design projects.
  • Desire to pursue Chartered Engineer status with a recognized professional body.
  • Proficiency in Civils3D, AutoCAD, and the Autodesk ecosystem.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of highway design standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and meeting project deadlines.
