Our client is a specialist and leading manufacturing business within the Aerospace Manufacturing sector. An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the growing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace components, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate design requirements into manufacturing specifications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production teams to ensure adherence to established processes and procedures.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address manufacturing issues and improve process efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Evaluate and select appropriate manufacturing equipment and tooling, considering factors such as capability, cost, and lead time.
- Perform feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed manufacturing projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, including AS9100 and NADCAP requirements.
- Maintain documentation and records related to manufacturing processes, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process control plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the aerospace sector.
- Strong background in precision engineering, with experience working in a machine shop environment.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam).
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
