Credit Control Manager

My prestigious client based in Gloucester are seeking a Credit Control Manager to manage the credit control function within the business. You will have at least 5 years combined experience within credit control and sales ledger, and proven management experience. If you have worked within the construction industry, then that will be a bonus! Offering a fantastic salary of £48,000 per annum plus benefits.

Your Role:

  • Your role will be to lead and manage a Sales Ledger and Credit Control team.
  • Ensure that operational targets, financial targets and budgets, and any other performance measures are successfully met.
  • Overseeing and being accountable for all sales ledger functions, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely cash allocation and effective credit control is being carried out. 
  • Ensuring the team are escalating queries in a timely manner and these are being resolved.
  • Ongoing review of customers Credit limits to ensure risk is being appropriately managed.
  • Developing and producing regular reports.
  • Reviewing and approving the issuing of credit control communications and monthly statements of account and recording full notes of action taken
  • Collecting Direct Debit mandate payments from customers if required 
  • Running credit checks.
  • Month end assessment and recommendation of doubtful and bad debt provisions
  • Making recommendations to write off any bad debts following appropriate approval from the Group Finance Director.
  • Reviewing payment terms held in the systems and ongoing maintenance to ensure payment terms are aligned between systems.
  • Overseeing the invoicing process to ensure all invoices are raised within the month.

Skills Required:

  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience of working within the construction industry – beneficial. 
  • Ability to provide excellent levels of customer service.
  • Excellent management and leadership skills.
  • Proven Credit Control and Sales Ledger experience.
