About the Role

As a field service hydraulic engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and longevity of various heavy machinery. You will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining a range of equipment, employing your technical expertise to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Be able to complete repairs, upgrades, and routine maintenance procedures according to customer needs and standard maintenance schedules.
  • Disassemble malfunctioning equipment when necessary to locate broken parts, and complete
  • repairs using specialized tools
  • Extensive experience in fault diagnosis on hydraulic systems and electrical circuits.
  • Utilizing your in-depth knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems to perform diagnostics and provide effective solutions.
  • Carrying out repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Performing thorough fault finding and inspections to identify potential issues and recommending preventative maintenance measures.
  • Collaborating with the team to maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service by communicating professionally and building positive client relationships.

Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised qualifications in heavy plant maintenance or a similar field (NVQ or diploma) are essential.
  • Experience with working on hydraulic variable displacement pumps and logic control valves
  • Proven industry experience in servicing and repairing heavy machinery.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of a variety of heavy machinery makes models, and manufacturers.
  • A valid driving license is required for this mobile role, involving travel to different client sites.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
