Alecto Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Static Plant Fitter based in Tamworth area

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Plant Fitter to join their team. As a Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of shredders, conveyors, telehandlers, plant machinery, and crushers.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular maintenance checks on static plant machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and replacing faulty parts as necessary.
  • Conducting routine inspections to identify potential issues and implementing preventive maintenance measures.
  • Collaborating with the maintenance team to plan and execute scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations, ensuring safe working practices, and promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections.

Requirements:

  • Experience in maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery such as shredders, conveyors, telehandlers, plant machinery, and crushers
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and inspections on mobile heavy plant machinery.
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems associated with static plant equipment.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing faults, troubleshooting, and performing repairs efficiently and effectively.
  • Familiarity with maintenance practices, including preventive maintenance and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Experience working on machinery from a range of manufacturers, including Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, JCB, and Liebherr, among others.
  • Experience working on a variety of heavy plant vehicles, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, dump trucks, and other specialized equipment, is preferred
  • NVQ level 3 in Heavy Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
