Test Engineer (ICE)

MillTech’s client is growing again and looking to recruit a Test Engineer to join the projects team in Milton Keynes.

They are looking to recruit Test Engineers on a permanent basis due to the consistently high project demands on the team.

Your role as the Test Engineer will include:

• Responsible for the testing of ICE powertrain systems in test cells for specific customers and ensure projects conform to customer standards and health and safety procedures
• Perform Powertrain performance testing and durability to ensure that component and/or system designs meet design specifications, government regulations and established product objectives
• Design and specify test rigs, fixtures and other special equipment
• Use of suitable functional or analytical tools, including hand calculations where appropriate, to optimise the design of major systems
• Provide adequate information on the objectives of the project to the test technicians and other personnel involved
• Ensure all test bed instrumentation used is calibrated in line with company procedures
• Ensure that the data generated meets the requirements of the project, prepare data in line with customer requirements and verify all test results before passing them to the customer
• Work closely with the business and technical teams in working closely with clients

To succeed in this position, you will need the following experience and background:

• Extensive experience in an automotive test bed environment at a minimum of test engineer level
• Experience with gasoline, diesel and/or Hybrid Powertrain test programs
• Solid understanding of vehicle development cycle and gateway delivery
• Experience of system engineering process and validation / verification methods to de-risk a program
• Work with system requirements, FMEAs & DVPs to understand test requirements
• Preferably Degree educated and not essential
