Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician x 4 – New Energy from Waste Power Station

Introduction
MC Technical have partnered with enfinium to supply the Operations & Maintenance Team for the new Skelton Grange EFW facility, currently under construction, on the outskirts of Leeds. Once operational the plant will process up to 410,000 of waste per year generation 49MW of electricity for the national grid.
We are currently recruiting for 4 Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technicians to join the Operations and Maintenance team at Skelton Grange EFW. The E,C&I Technicians will be responsible for conducting reactive and planned preventative maintenance on all E,C&I assets across the site to ensure maximum plant availability and minimal downtime.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the site during the final construction phases and see the plant through mobilisation. Working with the site commissioning team, you will receive industry leading training in preparation for when the site starts processing waste and becomes commercially operational.
Start date – Planned start dates for these roles will be 5th August 2024
As an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician you will be responsible for:
- Fault finding, repair work and planned and unplanned maintenance on all C&I and electrical assets to maximise plant availability. This includes pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors, the sites control systems (DCS and PLCs) as well as motors, drives, generators, switchgear etc.
- Coordinating and planning daily maintenance activities
- Assisting with outage planning and coordination
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the CMMS
- Providing technical support to the operations team when required
- Working alongside other Technicians and Engineers with regards to plant projects and upgrades
- Read and interpret drawings, sketches, prints and specifications as required
- Respond to any emergency call ins and provide acceptable off duty cover as directed by the EC&I Engineer
- Managing contractors when required
To be considered for this role you should have:
- A time served apprenticeship along with a relevant engineering qualification at HNC/ONC level in electrical or electronic engineering
- At least 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience across electrical and C&I maintenance in a relevant heavy process environment such as a power station, chemical plant, refinery, paper mill, water treatment or similar
- Experience fault finding and maintaining EC&I equipment sauch as motos, drives, switchgear, generators as well as pressure, level, flow and temperature sensors and control systems (PLCs, DCS)
- Ideally experience managing and directing contractors
- Experience using a CMMS (computerise maintenance management system)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g. health & safety and environmental etc.
