Maintenance Engineer

Monday to Friday 3 Shifts

Our client is Global manufacturing facility based close to Mansfield, Nottinghamshire is looking to strengthen their team of electrical engineers, you will report to the production team leader and be a pivotal part of this busy UK plant.  Your key tasks will be to ensure that all electrical based issues regarding equipment, machinery and plant are safely managed in a way to optimised for production.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing, standards and procedures; complying with codes and legal regulations, support the development of a “Safety First” culture and raise any issues observed.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance work on plant equipment.
  • Respond to breakdowns/calls in a timely manner.
  • Be proactive, regularly patrol areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure 5S standards are maintained/improved.  Leave work areas safe, clean & tidy before handing back to production.
  • Adopt and promote lean thinking and methodologies (5S, SMED, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, TPM, Visual Factory etc.).
  • Fault find, repair, and maintain single and 3 phase systems/panels: including associated control circuits, protection systems, sensors and actuators, motors and Variable Speed Drives, relay logic.
  • Fault find, repair, and maintain a variety of safety circuits, guarding and systems up to and including SIL3/PL e.
  • Fault finding on mainly Allen-Bradley and Omron PLC controlled equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics and specifications.
  • Carry out continuous improvement projects in plant and processes to improve safety, quality, and production.
  • Other activities as requested within the competency and trained level of the individual.  These could include, but are not limited to, making PLC/HMI program changes, electrical design, installation, training other engineers.

Education and experience

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering and/or time served apprenticeship.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Experience of working in a high-speed production environment. 
  • GCSE in Maths and English at grade C or above.
