Our Water company client are seeking a Civil Engineer to support on Water/flooding/drainage projects based out of Manby, Lincolnshire.

You will be part of a small team, dedicated to serving the local community. Our client provides water level management services for any number of bodies and boards, managing 92 pumping stations and 2,400km of watercourse that protect assets across an area of 147,665 hectares. They are dedicated to providing an effective and efficient service, managing water levels within the area to protect communities, farmland, businesses and infrastructure. They have a reputation for delivering high quality services and innovative approaches to water level management challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in an extensive capital works programme which is in addition to routine engineering interventions across clients assets
  • Utlitise civils knowledge to provide sound, sustainable and environmentally sensitive land, drainage and flood solutions for management of water levels across set geographical areas
  • leading, motivating and managing a small design team in the delivery of diverse multidisciplinary projects across the Consortium
  • Progressing the Boards' capital works programmes from design through to award of tender.
  • Responsibilities include scoping of projects, preparation of whole of life cost estimates, programmes, feasibility studies, multidisciplinary design, design risk assessments, preparation of outline business cases for grant funding, and tender preparation and adjudication
  • Ensure the maintenance and improvement of existing assets taking into account future needs and the effects of climate change, ensuring equipment is always fully operational/respond to emergency events

Skills/experience/qualifications

  • Proven record of success in delivering projects
  • Good understanding of CDM Regulations
  • Positive and proactive attitude to health and safety.
  • Background in flooding/drainage/water/utilities
  • Ideally degree qualified in water related/civil engineering subject
  • Chartership ideal not non essential
