We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Operational Quality Engineer, to be involved in developing a global supply chain and creating opportunities for the wider industry.

For the right individual, we have a fantastic opportunity to join the Rolls-Royce SMR Quality Team working as an Operational Quality Engineer.

Job Purpose:

In this role, you will be responsible for helping to shape and manage the development and deployment of the SMR operational quality operating model and arrangements, processes, systems and tools to meet nuclear design code and regulatory requirements, best practices and quality excellence.

Key Results & What Can Be Achieved in The Role:

Establishing a new operating model instructions and ensuring that regulatory and business requirement are met and the opportunity to develop this new function within the business.

The Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Developing the operational Quality engineering function

  • Supporting the development of the operational quality processes and procedures for all SMR factories to work with all the relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all aspects of a suitably qualified experienced persons (SQEP)
  • Development of processes, and procedures.

  1. Proactive engagement
  • Proactively review and evaluate existing policies, practices, and controls for improvements
  • Provide coaching, advice and help to others in the resolution of problems and issues
  • Support external benchmarking to identify the latest audit and problem-solving techniques

  1. Project Management skillset
  • Operational KPI's to be met in a timely manner
  • Good problem-solving capabilities and the ability to hold workshops with timely outcomes
  • Strong organisational skills

  1. Strong interpersonal Skills
  • Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders provide quality support to all functions including marketing, project and programme management, engineering, manufacturing, and the supply chain, gaining experience of a range of SMR activities.

Qualifications & Training:

  • Ideally the candidate should hold a minimum of HNC or degree in a related discipline, and or relevant work experience.
  • Chartered status would be advantageous but not essential

Pay and Benefits

We anticipate paying a salary of between £40,000 - £50,000 plus:-

  • Bonus - Performance related bonus of up to 12.5%
  • Benefits Allowance - £2200, enabling you to create a bespoke package
  • Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
  • Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days
  • Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
  • Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
  • £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
