A global provider of bespoke safety solutions are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their multi-skilled team based in Bredbury, Stockport.

As one of the Senior Engineers you’ll have the opportunity to immediately impact on the performance of the business and will be given exposure to the wider executive team.

What’s on offer?

• £45,000 per annum
• Performance related bonus scheme (up to 15% of salary)
• Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (early finish on Fridays)

What will you be doing as a Senior Mechanical Engineer?

• Completing Value Added Value Engineering (VAVE) activities throughout the business and being a key stake holder in larger projects
• Developing new VAVE ideas to help the business meet global KPI’s
• Working alongside the technical manager to develop new concepts that can be taken to market for future opportunities
• Working with the CI team to develop robust solutions to production issues
• Creating bills of materials (BOM’s) for assemblies based upon approved GA and manufacturing drawings using the ERP system
• Total BOM management, a controlled approach to part number creation and assembly management within both the ERP system and PDM
• Taking a leading role in a reduction of errors and reducing waste improving BOM accuracy KPI from 92% to 95%
• Taking a leading role in working on customer project orders and being the technical lead

What do you need?

• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline i.e. CEng Mechanical Engineering
• A minimum of three years experience in a senior role within an engineering design team
• Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
• Evidence of leading process improvements in drafting and CAD data management activities.
• Experience creating and maintaining BOM’s in an ERP system
• Can demonstrate knowledge of how an ERP system works and the impact engineering have on the system

What’s nice to have?

• Certified SolidWorks Associate/Professional/Expert
• Experience supplying to the petrochemical industries and equipment for hazardous areas
• Understanding of Sage ERP system
• The ability to conduct FEA/Structural Analysis/calculations
