We are a recruiting for a well-established local group of companies providing equipment for the Pharmaceutical industry for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Review existing products and revise drawings to reflect the latest designs and methods of manufacture.
• Develop new products under the guidance of the management of the company.
• Manage projects from receipt of order to despatch whilst ensuring projects are delivered to the agreed timeline with the customer and in line with allocated budgets.
• Generation of models / assemblies and associated manufacturing / assembly drawings required for the project, modifying standard drawings as required for the project, and then seeing the items through the manufacturing stages to customers FAT and beyond where necessary.
• Generate and maintain bills of materials (Project specific & standard builds).
• Produce documentation to the required standard for the products and projects.
• Assist sales / marketing by providing technical assistance where necessary.

Skills Required

The applicant should have the following skills:

• Working familiarity with SolidWorks design package.
• Have familiarity with stressing and force calculations and be able to operate FEA packages and interpret results
• Be computer literate and able to use all standard office software packages (Word, Excel etc)
• Be familiar with drawing office procedures and standards and able to install systems as appropriate to maintain these. (ISO 9001 registered).
• Able to write clear concise documentation to accompany the project.
• Be able to think logically and clearly and recommend options where appropriate.
• Excellent communication skills with all levels (internally and with suppliers/customers)
• Good organisational skills.
