Role:

As the Finance Controller you will be responsible for the management of the CGU finance team, developing a cohesive and fit for the future finance function that aligns with the business’s growth strategy, ensuring compliance with all internal and external controls, along with driving efficiencies through continuous improvement. You will be based within our Horncastle office with occasional travel to Loughborough site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a finance team that is appropriately resourced and structured, supporting the members of the team in their development goals to equip them with the necessary skills and experience to achieve high levels of performance
  • Develop effective processes and implement system enhancements that will ensure the effective and efficient running of the finance function
  • Co-ordinating the team to deliver timely month end close
  • Prepare and analyse the monthly management accounts to identify and understand variances for presentation to the Finance Director
  • Maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders within the business
  • Ensure the business is compliant with all internal and external financial controls
  • Oversee the provision of information to external auditors
  • Support the Finance Director in the preparation of budgets and forecasts

The Person:

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
  • Experience of managing multi skilled finance teams in a multi-site environment
  • A recognised accounting qualification, (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), is desirable but not essential
  • Able to demonstrate a background of both commercial and technical accounting experience would be beneficial
  • Strong analytical skills with a flair for numbers is essential for this role
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels throughout a business
  • Strong experience of core accounting and overseeing internal controls
  • Finance experience gained within a manufacturing environment is essential for this role
