Job Role

Electrical Engineer and Project Manager - Renewable Energy Projects

Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer and Project Manager to join our dynamic team.

As an Electrical Engineer and Project Manager in the renewable energy sector, you will contribute to the development and execution of renewable energy projects, ensuring the highest level of technical excellence, sustainability, and innovation.

You will be an integral part of our mission to accelerate the transition to clean and renewable energy sources.

Design Specification and Installation: Responsible for the sign off on all electrical design and installation, performed by in house engineers and subcontractors.

Engineering:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, engineer, and optimize electrical systems for renewable energy projects, including solar PV, biomass CHPs, HPs and solar thermal installations.

Project Management and Health and Safety: Lead projects, from concept through to commissioning, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and health & safety regulations. Manage the internal team and subcontractors to quality budget and scope.

Business Development: Business case modelling, contact customers to propose sustainable solutions required to deliver customer value.

Technical Analysis:

Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate the electrical components of renewable energy projects, including load analysis, system modelling, and performance evaluations.

Equipment Selection: Specify and select electrical equipment, such as inverters, transformers, and control systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and performance goals. Negotiate with suppliers to deliver best value for the compnay

Interconnection:

Coordinate grid connection processes, liaising with utility companies and regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals and permits.

Quality Assurance:

Implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability and longevity of electrical systems within renewable energy projects.

Documentation:

Create detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, and maintain accurate project records.

Cost Estimation and Control: Manage cost estimation and budgeting for energy projects.

Technology Innovation:

Stay current with advancements in renewable energy and electrical engineering, integrating new technologies and best practices into project designs.

Requirements:

ECS Gold Card

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Professional engineering licensure (or working towards it) is preferred.

Previous experience in electrical design and engineering, preferably in the renewable energy sector. (MCS experience)

Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsol, SketchUp, E-plan).

Controller experience would be a advantage such as (Ladder logic / COMAP / Siemens)

Strong project management skills and the ability to work within cross-functional teams.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
