Salary/Rate:
£35,000 - £43,000/annum

We are currently working with a major interdisciplinary practice of architects, engineers and designers, as they look to add a talented Civil Engineer to their London division.

The consultancy is vibrant and progressive, offering leading thinking and inspirational solutions with maximum value for their clients and minimum impact on the planet. The overall aspiration as engineers is to use their engineering ideas to help shape design rather than simply deliver an architect-led solution.

The team is currently seeking a civil engineer who wants the opportunity to apply their creative skills on a challenging and high profile project. You will have a unique opportunity to work on infrastructure designs; masterplanning; healthcare, higher education, schools and historic refurbishments. Sustainable strategies, flood resilience and climate change are integral part of their projects along with the important role civil engineers can provide during the early design stages. This is a unique opportunity to develop your career at one of the largest interdisciplinary building design practices in the UK.

Ideally, you will be a talented engineer with a strong academic record and at least 2-3 years of industry experience gained working on challenging large-scale projects (£10m or more). You will be able demonstrate excellent technical aptitude supplemented by outstanding IT skills. You will enjoy expressing creative ideas through sketching and will be able to communicate effectively to build firm working relationships with architects, engineers, clients and contractors.

Day-to-day, this role will involve:

  • Drainage schemes associated with buildings and public realm projects;
  • Pavement design associated with public realm projects;
  • Undertaking designs for section 278 and 104 agreements;
  • Flood management and reducing flood risk;
  • Flow path analysis;
  • Ground modelling;
  • Masterplanning.
  • Road layouts and detailed design;

A track record of working with AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, and Cviil 3D will equip you for ground modelling, road and drainage design. Familiarity with Revit and Naviswork will also be advantageous.

Additionally, your personal profile will comprise:

  • Ability to work independently and seek assistance when required;
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure project targets are met;
  • Highly motivated and passionate about delivering projects to time, budget and quality;
  • Organised and methodical with particular attention to detail;
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines under pressure;
  • Have a pragmatic and innovative approach to problem solving;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively and build relationships at all levels with clients and employees alike and across all professional disciplines;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with an ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.

Company benefits include a bespoke personal development plan, flexible pensionallowance, paid professional subscriptions, private medical insurance, employee profit sharing, as well as an outstanding working environment.

This is a unique opportunity that is not to be missed. If you think your experience matches up well, please click apply or reach out to Jamie Will at Calibre Search.
