We’re hiring for a Welding Compliance Specialist to join the welding coordination team to enhance the welding quality management system at an ultra-modern manufacturing facility based in Stockport.

Your role will involve setting standards by helping develop WPS ensuring welder qualifications are maintained as well as providing proactive support to the manufacturing teams to assure welding standards are adhered to.

What will you be doing as a Welding Compliance Specialist?

  • Assisting with works order planning data (welding) for SAP
  • Assisting with internal welder audits and the audit functions
  • Identifying root causes of weld issues and internal weld audit NCRs
  • Supporting and implement changes driven by welder audit NCRs
  • Developing WPS as required for new product intake and legacy programmes
  • Monitoring WPS to ensure correct correlation of essential variables
  • Developing standard operating procedures or work instructions applicable to welding ensuring all required information cascades correctly
  • Performing ISO 3834 pre-audit analysis and identify any potential NCRs
  • Assisting with the development of welder qualification testing to the required standard
  • Supporting production engineering where welding changes are required

What do you need?

  • IWS / EWS qualified
  • Registration with the welding institute (TWI)
  • Good knowledge and understanding of multiple welding processes, MIG/MAG(SMAW) TIG(GTAW)
  • Good understanding of mechanised welding systems
  • Understanding of technical documents inc drawings
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle software (PLM)
  • Exposure to external audit activity
  • Working knowledge of ISO 3834

What’s nice to have?

  • Working Knowledge of DIN 2303
  • IWT / EWT or willing to progress to this level
  • CSWIP 3.1 qualified
