Join us on this mission as Welding Training Partner within our Manufacturing team, based in Denham.
You’ll be responsible for the development, education and sustainment of new and existing Welding colleagues, producing Welding and Brazing training programmes as required, ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures and health safety requirements. When not training, you’ll undertake Welding and Brazing production tasks to support the wider team.
The core remit for this role will be to develop a training programme that complements the skill requirements of the department, aligning with the skills matrix and relevant development pathways, creating training literature / resources and relevant activities to verify competence, including identifying applicable training and certification courses required to educate specific skill set requirements, supporting wider Manufacturing apprenticeship training requirements.
You’ll train colleagues through classroom technical methods, technical tests and on-the-job training, incorporating feedback to line managers relating to capability levels, staff development and appraisal processes. You’ll work with the business Technical Training Manager to coordinate external training activities.
Characteristics & Skills
- Experience of Brazing, Welding and Inspection activities within large fabrication units, thorough knowledge of TIG Brazing and Welding disciplines, appreciation of manufacturing processes in Aerospace, Defence or Automative industries. Seasoned inspection and quality control knowledge.
- Demonstrated background with training, including capabilities and skills.
- American Welding Society Standards knowledge and understanding of general technical drawing requirements (e.g. ASME Y14.5 or ISO 8888).
- Know how to listen and communicate effectively with others.
- Share and demonstrate the Martin-Baker Values.
