A leading manufacturing and production company in the Braintree area are looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to work within a team ensuring that the facility and equipment operate in the most efficient manner. You will need to have mechanical and electrical systems knowledge to identify and resolve any issues that arise.

• Hours are 7am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday with occasional on call

Duties:

• Repair, service and maintain all plant machinery and equipment
• Ensure accurate records of servicing and repairs are kept
• Respond to site breakdowns, diagnose and locate faults and repair accordingly.
• Carry out mechanical preventive maintenance.
• Act as part of the site Emergency Response team.
• Participate in various improvement initiatives
• Removal/Assembly and fitting of various type of bearings and gear boxes.
• Maintain good housekeeping, be aware of and adhere to health and safety requirements
• You will be provided with a training program to develop your technical skills
• Ensure deadlines are met and work is completed to a high standard.

Experience required:

• Must be an experienced mechanical fitter able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Self-sufficient with the ability to work in a team environment

• Experience of troubleshooting and diagnosis of mechanical and electrical faults preferably with knowledge of PLC's
• Able to maintain accurate records
• Must have a continuous improvement mentality and a knowledge of lean manufacturing practices
• Experience of performing routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting, cleaning, and repairing equipment
• Time served Apprenticeship, supported by Engineering qualifications such as NVQ3/HNC or City & Guilds
