A growing manufacturer east of Leeds with a superb product is looking for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer for their growing Quality function. This company is expanding fast and this is a great opportunity to get involved in a broad range of Quality Engineering activities including NPI / NPD.
Your responsibilities as a Quality Engineer will be:
- New Product Introduction
- Work closely with the design team to integrate Quality from design to development
- Making sure Quality standards are adhered to during all phases of the build
- Participate in benchmarking activities
- Set inspection and assembly standards
- Problem-solving and investigation using RCA, 5Y, Ishikawa
- Co-ordinate teams for Problem solving using the correct process
- Implement and record CAPAs
- Using 8Ds
- Support Scrap reduction and defect reduction initiatives
- Assist with Process audits and put in improvement actions to ensure Quality standards
- ISO 9001 Audits
- Maintenance of the QMS
- Reporting of KPIs
- Updating Quality documentation
- Customer Quality and working with internal teams to maintain high standards
- Support QC activities if needed
- Gauge R & R
Essential skills as a Quality Engineer
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer
- Understanding of ISO 9001
- Able to read engineering drawings
- Able to do statistical analysis
- Able to lead in structured problem solving
- Automotive Core tools
Nice to haves:
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- ISO 9001 Auditing experience
- Assembly build processes
