We are recruiting for a Workshop Engine Mechanic for a company that forms part of the largest privately-owned Diesel and Petrol Engineering organisations in the United Kingdom.

Salary:

Starting salary is £32k per annum.

Room for progression and salary reviews.

Hours:

Standard times 08:00 to 16:30

40 hour week with overtime available

The Role:

You will be required to perform overhaul and repair work on a variety of diesel engines, including Volvo Penta, FPT, Kubota, mtu, Mercedes, Detroit Diesel and others. All applicants will be required to have served a recognised apprenticeship and have a minimum of 5 years engine overhaul experience and knowledge in a similar field.

  • Experience with diesel or petrol engines - car or commercial
  • Strip and rebuild of engine units
  • Diagnose engine faults and create report
  • Factory training given for individual engine makes and types
  • Removal and Refit of engines and associated components from a wide variety of vehicles and machinery.
  • Dismantle Clean and Inspection of customer engines.
  • Prepare overhaul quotations as required by customers and franchised partners.
  • Completion of unit rebuild/overhaul work as quoted.
  • Diagnosis and repair of 'in chassis' faults on a wide variety of vehicles and machines.
  • Learn to strip and rebuild automatic transmission gearboxes (training and development given)
