Would you like to join a company involved in Major Infrastructure Projects? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently seeking a Senior BIM & Digital Engineer to join their existing team in Devonport on a 12-month contract.

The Role


As a Senior BIM & Digital Engineer, you will contribute to the BIM modelling and coordination aspects of the project under the guidance of the Task Team Manager / BIM Manager. This role involves modelling authoring, federation, clash management, H&S in BIM, COBie, IFC, and Classification Delivery. You will be responsible for maintaining a defined and structured set of BIM objects within a wider BIM dataset. The Senior BIM & Digital Engineer should possess extensive knowledge of key authoring platforms outlined in the MIP EIR, including Revit, Naviswork, AutoCAD, Inventor, and Civils 3D. They must be able to create content in these platforms for project purposes. Awareness or experience with Solibri, Synchro, Dynamo, and NBS (specification) is preferable.

To succeed within the role of a Senior BIM & Digital Engineer, you'll have experience in a similar position and have the following skills:

  • Apply Business Unity BIM Standards and follow Delivery Team BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
  • Provide BIM authoring support, including model authoring, federation, and clash management.
  • Link BIM models from other teams and access latest models from CDE.
  • Produce high-quality parametric objects and maintain BIM dataset.
  • Reference and apply BIM Authoring standards and Production Methods.
  • Ensure model information aligns with project requirements.
  • Meet BIM level 2 standards, including COBie and Uniclass classifications.
  • Work with Digital Library coordinator to manage modelling objects.
  • Use H&S beacons in BIM and align with project BEP.
  • Produce high-quality BIM models and drawings.
  • Follow CDE process and states.
  • Support design coordination and resolve clash issues.
  • Report on model issues impacting design.
  • Collaborate with wider design and BIM teams.
  • Develop Building Information Models in line with project strategy.
  • Support 4D and 5D aspects of projects.
  • Validate models to ensure suitability.
  • Meet BIM level 2 standards as per PAS 1192:6.
  • Provide 4D capability by federating models with CDE.

Qualifications

  • Design and Construction experience background in civil, structural, architectural, MEP, or similar disciplines.
  • Hold HNC, Diploma, Degree in one of the above multi-discipline roles.
  • Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years design and construction experience.
  • Demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the process of BIM throughout the design and construction lifecycle.
