£24,000 - £27,000/annum Depending on expereince

Mechanical Fitter
Newark Area- accessible from Mansfield, Nottingham and Newark on Trent.
c£24-£27k P.A
Hours: 39 hours per week, 8.00am - 4.30 pm Mon-Thurs, 8.00am - 3.30pm Friday

We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a busy engineering company in the Newark area. Due to location, you will need to drive and have your own transport.

The duties of the role will include:

  • Reading engineering drawings
  • Assembling and testing hydraulic cylinders and pumps from point of sub-assemblies to the finished item
  • Operating air tools/ manual lathes/ pillar drills
  • Using manual measuring equipment and hand tools
  • Fault finding on equipment
  • Performing quality assurance and pressure testing checks
  • Carrying out other tasks and duties as required

The ideal candidate for the role of Mechanical Fitter will have previous assembly experience within an engineering environment as well as:

  • Knowledge and use of a manual lathes / Pillar drills
  • Some knowledge of hydraulics however not a necessity
  • A flexible approach toward the role is essential
  • The ability to work under their own initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to work with engineers to solve problems
  • Attention to detail
