Role: Building Services Foreman

Location: Cork

MSL Engineering Ltd. is a mechanical engineering contractor dedicated to delivering a service that incorporates the highest standards of workmanship, safety, quality and reliability in interpreting and exceeding our clients’ expectations.

Day to day duties.

• Read and sign off all Permit to works
• Manage and monitor safety MSRA and training on site alongside safety officer
• Assign work activities on a daily basis to craft
• Answer emails and correspondence daily
• Attend tender meetings and/or walkthrough any new work with client / project team
• Walk all work areas at least twice a day.
• Closing out work orders on Lilly Gmars system
• Filling out of daily time sheets and dayworks
• Walkdown of completed works as per drawings
• Complete punchlist walkdowns
• Attend weekly progress meetings with client / contractors
• Manage resources on site alongside site manager

HVAC

• Needs to have a basic knowledge of how HVAC works - most of our HVAC work is modifying existing HVAC systems
• Ability to cost work and order materials for site maintenance works
• Ability to read drawings
• Formulate tenders
• Site manage and co-ordinate work activities
• Procurement and ordering of materials
• Ability to read isometric & P&ID drawings

Insulation and cladding

• Needs to have knowledge on the types of insulation and cladding as per site specifications. - Pipe runs /condensers / heat exchangers (steam,glycol, condensate, process tec)
• Ability to cost work and order materials for site maintenance works
• Complete material take off from drawings and/or walkdowns
• Procurement and ordering of materials

Stainless steel and general steel work.

• Needs to have general knowledge of stainless-steel fabrication welding and polishing
• Ability to site survey and sketch
• Interpret fabrication drawings

General work such as ;

• Survey / Marking out of opes for pipe and cable tray opes etc.
• Flashing and weathering of these opes.

Fibre glassing (GRP pipework)

• Have a small amount and basic knowledge of Fibre glassing (GRP) most of this work is modifying existing systems
• Ability to read isometric & P&ID drawings
