Highways Engineer

Our client, a local authority in the HTP sector, is currently seeking a Highways Engineer to join their Planned Maintenance Team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the delivery of carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes
- Prepare and review highways designs and plans
- Coordinate and liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and other departments
- Conduct site inspections and assessments
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and external parties
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
- Prepare and submit reports, budgets, and documentation
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in Highways Engineering, particularly in carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes
- Strong knowledge of highways design standards and specifications
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to work
- Full UK driving license
- In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations
