Overview:

This highly regarded West Yorkshire-based manufacturing company has a proven track record of producing top-quality fabricated assemblies for commercial clients both within the UK and internationally. As part of its ongoing expansion, they are looking to enhance their management team by recruiting a dedicated and skilled Welding and Fabrication Manager.

Role Overview:

As the Welding and Fabrication Manager, you will be an integral part of the companies management team, responsible for overseeing a group of approximately 10 welder/fabricators. Your primary objective will be to ensure that all work is executed to the companies exacting standards, in accordance with company protocols and ISO9001 quality benchmarks. A keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to meeting strict project deadlines are essential attributes for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of approximately 10 welder/fabricators, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and high-quality work.
  • Ensure that all projects are completed to the company’s high standards and meet ISO9001 quality requirements.
  • Participate actively in daily production meetings, contributing to effective planning and timely project completion.
  • Effectively manage staff attendance, sickness, lateness, and holidays in accordance with company policies.
  • Organise and prioritize work assignments, adjusting schedules as necessary to accommodate changes and fluctuations in project demands.
  • Display a “hands-on” approach when needed, utilising your experience in TIG welding and fabrication to guide and support the team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the welding and fabrication industry.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding and fabrication techniques, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 quality standards and the ability to ensure compliance throughout the fabrication process.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver on-time results.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and contribute to meetings.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing project requirements and demands.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and the ability to instill a safety-first mindset within the team.
