Principal Process Engineer Burton-on-Trent £DoE

Progressive GE and an International Engineering Consultancy, specialising in Engineered Process Solutions for the FMCG, Food, Drink & Brewing Industries are looking to recruit a Principal Process Engineer on a Staff / Permanent Basis, owing to business growth, succession planning & project pipeline for 2024-26+.

Reporting into an Engineering Manager, the Principal Process Engineer will be the Technical Authority on multi-disciplinary projects to design and construct state-of-the-art facilities through the full lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies to engineering design, construction management, and operational optimisation.

Specifically, the Principal Process Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Undertake the role of subject matter expert with significant knowledge and experience of process systems and provide engineering guidance to other departments
  • Manage all phases of technical process projects, leading in overseeing the implementation of process equipment and technology
  • Develop commercially focused innovative engineering solutions to solve complex Client problems with responsibility for delivery from initial conception through to final handover
  • Work as an effective member of a multi-disciplined project team leading one or more of the engineering disciplines
  • Commit to delivering project objectives within capital, time, quality, and legislative parameters
  • Assist in the overall development of the Process team, including the mentoring of junior / graduate Engineers

Experience & Qualifications Required for Principal Process Engineer Role:

  • Degree educated in a relevant engineering discipline (Chemical / Process Engineering)
  • Prior experience as a Principal Process Engineer / Lead Process Engineer / Senior Process Engineer
  • Prior process system design & project delivery experience within FMCG / Food / Drink / Brewing / Pharmaceutical / Advanced Renewable Technologies
  • Understanding of process analysis techniques (e.g. HAZOP studies) and process improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to travel both in the UK and internationally, as and when required
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD
  • Valid driving licence and vehicle owner
