Production Scheduler

Role Purpose

The Production Manufacturing Scheduler organises and monitors the material flow in our manufacturing facilities. Reporting to the master production scheduler, you will play a vital part in achieving the OTIF delivery in Manufacturing, chasing work orders and organising complex operations.

Good communicator, you will be able to prioritise other colleagues’ workload and troubleshoot issues liaising with different teams at different level, paying high attention to detail.

A key part of the role is thorough understanding and operation of MRP.

Key Activities/Decision Areas

- Update and control data within MRP system and production planning spreadsheets

- Run and interrogate MRP results on the ERP system

- Support introduction of new ERP tools and systems.

- Prioritise PWOs on the shop floor, monitor their progress against the Manufacturing Schedule and ensure their OTIF delivery

- Plan the factory, what PWO is done and when.

- Report risks, concerns and/or delays to the relevant stakeholders, suggesting solutions and recovery plans.

- Deal with scheduling conflicts by liaising with the relevant stakeholders.

- Collaborate with the manufacturing management to ensure productivity, efficiency and utilisation.

- Monitor the Aged WIP, reporting issues and concerns to manufacturing management.

- Monitor and address issues with PWO completion

-Run ad-hoc reports as necessary and generate the operational KPI – taking action in the system as needed.

- Release, amend and complete PWOs, updating the Planning System accordingly

- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues liaising with other teams 

Essential role related knowledge, technical skills, qualifications and experience

-Extensive experience with ERP systems, managing and running MRP/MPS.

-Knowledge of ERP implementation is very desireable

- Ability to communicate clear written and verbal instructions to production based and office based support staff

- Ability to persuade and influence colleagues, seeking for their active collaboration. Driving adherence to the planning system.

- Able to drive changes efficiently, involving colleagues from different functions.

- Work in an organised methodical manner, paying attention to detail.

- Experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Experience in MS Excel and, generally, in the MS Office Suite.

- Good Understanding of Product Structure (BOM and routes / structures and setting MRP rules)

- Experience in handling and controlling data in a production environment (desirable)
