We are looking for an Aircraft parts inspector for a long term role with our well established client.

£18.81 Per hour and a 38.5 hr week

Hours:
Mon-Thurs 08.00 – 16.30
Fri – 07.30-14.30

The purpose of this role is to carry out the inspection of a full range of aircraft components and ground support
equipment, making the decision to repair & overhaul or remove from service.

Inspection can take place at the customer’s sites or source of supply, on the job training to understand the requirements of various customers including different standards of log cards will be provided. 

The ideal candidate will have a relevant engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience and have worked in an engineering role previously, you dont have to have been an inspector but you will need to differentiate what will and wont meet specifications accurately.

Main duties Include: 
  • Inspection of Aircraft Components and Ground Support Equipment, 
  • Inspection of Supplier’s associated documentation;
  • If rejecting customer components, ensure the correct assessment documents are completed and returned with the component;
  • Receipt of Repair & Overhaul components from customer to ensure full traceability;
  • Inspection of Serialised and Vital Parts;
  • Use of measuring equipment including the operation of a Faro Arm / CATIA Workstation;
  • Interface with on site Customers and Supplier representatives;
  • Liaise with the Quality Engineers, in particular for updating of inspection plans and to assist and resolve quality issues;
  • Assist in problem solving with internal and external representatives and Customers;
  • Ability to operate the Internal/Customers computer systems required to discharge the role;
  • Hazardous Material Inspection, including handling.
  • Inspection of parts at Supplier’s premises using the Supplier’s measuring equipment.
  • If required undertake Product Audit/ Quality Occurrence Reports (QOR)
  • Fault Investigation
  • Complete inspections and preparation for long-term storage of assets.
Candidate Experience:
  • Experience with product audits, Problem solving and presentation skills, Ability to write professional reports are essential
  • Whilst not essential experience within Aerospace is beneficial.
  • Specialist Measuring Techniques, use of surface finish, deep bores, shadowgraph etc. and Faro Arm;
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods and COSHH Regulations;MOD FORM 731/WA3361 and Form 760 are desirable;
  • Knowledge of GOLDesp, CIETP and MJDI systems beneficial.
