Maintenance Engineer - Multi-skilled Engineers (Electrical)

Our client, one of the UK’s premier manufacturers of civil and construction steel products is looking for an experienced, Maintenance Engineer to work within their manufacturing facility in the Newcastle area. With a wide range of products our client is able to give total solutions to its customers needs as well as offer to each customer a level of unparalleled service and technical back up. The key to this role is ability to work within a fast-moving production and manufacturing company within the construction product industry maintaining and fault finding on a range of electro-mechanical systems and controls including motors, drives, control panels as well as basic some basic hydraulics, pneumatics, cutting and bending machines as well as machine shop equipment.

The Role                                                 

This role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all electrical and mechanical equipment (electrical biased) within our client’s facility. Knowledge of 3 phase electrical, motors, drives, controls required and if possible some mechanical exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, which would be found in cutting and bending machines. The roles requires applicants who have reactive and proactive maintenance and repair experience as well as fault finding experience. This is an industrial engineering types of role and require applicants to work on a day’s only basis, Monday to Friday.

The Person

Applicants will preferably have present or previous electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair experience. Applicant with fault finding experience would be ideal. Applicants should be suitably qualified within electrical engineering ideally 15/16/17th edition (time served or apprenticeship) but should ideally be multi-skilled or electrical with some basic mechanical experience. This role will carry a basic salary of £29-30k basic, pension scheme, Life Insurance Scheme and 25 days holiday.
